This Low Smoke Halogen Free cable offers substantial advantages over conventional wiring methods. It is ideal for fixed wiring in hospitals, airports, computer rooms and other sensitive environments. The high level of screening ensures substantially reduced levels of Electro Magnetic Interference making it the right choice where EMC is a priority.

Because it is faster to install and lighter than small armoured cables or conduit, considerable cost savings can be achieved. If the cable is pierced or accidentally cut the aluminium screen and CPC minimise the chance of personal injury.

This cable is an alternative to Multi-Plus and we are also able to supply Pirelli (Prysmian) LSX brand cable.

Cable Construction

Plain copper wire strands to BS6360 class 2, Halogen Free XLPE insulation to BS6899, full size tinned copper earth conductor to BS6360 class 2, longitudinal aluminium tape, Low Smoke Halogen Free sheath to BS EN 50267-2-1 & BS EN 50268.

At FSC we refer to LSHF as Low Smoke Halogen Free

This term is interchangeable with LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), OHLS (Zero Halogen Low Smoke) and FRNC (Flame Retardant Non-Corrosive). Beware of the terms LSF (Low Smoke and Fume) or RP (Reduced Propogation), when relating to signal or control cables will normally be modified PVC and produce 'Loads of Smoke and Fume'!

Fire retardant, fire resistant, flame resistant or flame retardant?
