Originally developed for communications and signalling within the process control industry this cable is now widely used in other industrial applications. The screening offers protection from electro magnetic interference. These cables are suitable for fixed installation when there is no risk of mechanical damage. Armoured versions are available, listed under the heading Type 2.

Plain annealed copper wire conductors to BS 6360, class 1, 2 or 5, PVC insulation, laid up as cores, twisted into pairs or triples depending on the type required, overall foil screen and drain wire, RP-PVC sheath - Black or blue.

Cores 1 - 40 yellow with black numbers, 41 - 80 black with yellow numbers
