BS5839 : 1 & BS6387 CWZ Fire Alarm Cables, Standard Grade

Now widely used in fire alarm systems and to feed emergency lighting. The FSC range of fire survival cables and accessories offers a cost effective alternative to MICC for many applications. Supplied in red, black or white on 100m and 500m reels as standard.

Special versions with other sheath colours or core combinations are available to order. The cable can also be printed with your name, message or installation details subject to availability.

Construction

Plain copper conductor, circuit integrity Low Smoke Halogen Free insulation. Metallic barrier tape with copper earth-wire maintaining longitudinal contact. Low Smoke Halogen Free sheath.

At FSC we refer to LSHF as Low Smoke Halogen Free

This term is interchangeable with LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), LSOH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), OHLS (Zero Halogen Low Smoke) and FRNC (Flame Retardant Non-Corrosive). Beware of the terms LSF (Low Smoke and Fume) or RP (Reduced Propogation), when relating to signal or control cables will normally be modified PVC and produce 'Loads of Smoke and Fume'!

Fire retardant, fire resistant, flame resistant or flame retardant?

These terms are often misunderstood. Most cables when exposed to fire will not carry on functioning. If you require cable to continue working in the event of fire, and in accordance with various standards please call us.
